SOUND DESIGN · FOLEY · RECORDING · MIX
University of San Francisco, 2017
A classmate and I were handed a funny animated boxing short with zero sound. I performed and recorded the foley, built the punches from stomps on wood layered with a slamming door, and synced that flurry of punches frame by frame, which kept me in the sound lab until about 4 a.m. Worth it.

About Me.
I'm Alejandro, a sound designer and foley artist from Novato, California. Somewhere between hitting things to hear what they sound like and recreating a Star Wars blaster with a slinky in class, I realized this was what I wanted to do. Foley and sound design are my favorite parts of the work: taking a silent picture and building a whole world into it, one footstep, creak and punch at a time.
I run The Story Corner, a YouTube channel where I write, narrate, record and mix audio stories, mostly the dark, Poe-and-Lovecraft kind. I made the sound effects for Quiet Godo, a horror game on Steam, and, with a classmate, built the soundtrack for the animated short Boxing Tonight out of total silence.
I live in Pro Tools, and I record my own narration and foley.
